Bay Cove Human Services' mission is to partner with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential. Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualized and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The Employment Supports Director will assist the Director of Day Services in providing requisite clinical, programmatic and administrative leadership in the operation of community based services to adults living with developmental disabilities. The Director of Employment Supports provides such supervision and leadership in a manner that promotes excellent quality care; consumer stability, dignity, and growth and employees; acquisition of needed skills to perform their work effectively, facilitates professional development and positive morale.

This is an exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Program Managers and staff as assigned by the Director of Day Services.
  • Assumes full responsibility over assigned programs in the absence of the Director of Day Services as assigned by the Vice President of DD Services.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Implements all aspects of Bay Cove and funding Quality Management Plan.
  • Responsible for overseeing all clinical, programmatic, administrative, and fiscal aspects of assigned programs. Provides for relevant and ongoing staff development and training.
  • Provides support and supervision to Program Managers and staff as assigned. Manages and coordinates student interns in collaboration with Dir of Day Services.
  • Assumes major responsibility for various clinical, administrative, and programmatic tasks within Day Services. Provides clinical and administrative on call services and emergency back up and coverage.
  • Oversees compliance with all DDS, MRC, and DPH licensing/regulations, in addition to other required documentation and regulatory standards (eg, CARF, DOL).
  • Works collaboratively with relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of staff. Works collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources and HR staff to ensure that agency guidelines, policies, and Department of Labor Regulations are met.
  • Manages business affiliations and contracts.
  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by Dir of Day Services.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 1 year supervisory experience or 5 years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness and/or developmental disabilities with supervisory responsibilities and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Use of personal cellular telephone for work communication.
  • Current United States drivers license.
  • An acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment).
  • Attends required orientation and training, including in-service training, conferences and seminars.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in CPR, SFA, PREVENT and MAP (within the timelines stipulated in the List of Required Training).
  • Ability to use computer for documentation, email communication and on-line training.
  • Ability to assist people with mobility impairments as needed. Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Pay Rate: $80,000 annual salary
