Objectives:
- Lead overarching Global Program(s) as Global Program Leader (GPL), defining asset strategy and leading development and LCM activities from discovery to the marketplace.
- Provide enterprise leadership across regulatory approval, launch, and global patient access; partner across functions to maximize asset value; communicate effectively and make/commit to joint decisions.
- Set global program vision, strategy, goals, priorities, plans, and schedules; align cross-functional/cross-divisional goals with business needs.
- Lead delivery of projects from discovery to commercialization and LCM; may manage 3-5 projects across development phases (including innovative early programs to Phase III/submission and global launch).
- Lead a cross-functional Global Program Team (GPT) through functional sub-team leaders; ensure deliverables meet scope/objectives, budget, and timelines; provide matrix management and strategic/tactical leadership.
- Accountable with Global Program Manager for operating budgets; manage expenditures and budget variance.
- Report program progress, risks/issues/impacts, and updates to TA Unit and executive governance committees.
- Manage multiple assets; evaluate new opportunities and support feasibility studies.
- Manage resources and contingency plans; lead change management and support KPI/databases for program performance.
Required:
- Advanced scientific degree (MD/PhD/PharmD) or MBA.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with R&D and commercial operations.
- 8+ years interdisciplinary global experience with complex projects, including strategy/execution and matrix leadership.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in science or business.
- Broad enterprise orientation.
- Managed multiple NME global approvals.
- PMI Project Management Professional (desired).
Skills:
- Passionate about developing future leaders.
- 20-25% travel; includes overnight and some international travel.
