The Quality Inspection Technician is a key member of the Manufacturing team, and will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and reporting on incoming material for machine production. They will also help in performing machine calibration and testing operations. They will be responsible for a broad variety of components; including sheet metal, precision machined parts, electromechanical assemblies, PCBA’s, cables, and more.

This role requires attendance during normal working hours between 9-5, 5 days a week in the Boston Seaport area.

Day One to Year One
  • Perform incoming inspection of mechanical parts, electromechanical components/ assemblies, and cable assemblies using appropriate testing tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters, continuity testers).
  • Review engineering documentation such as drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and others to confirm parts meet dimensional, material, and assembly specifications.
  • Verify supplier‑provided documentation, including certificates of conformity, inspection reports, and test data.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconformities to suppliers and internal stakeholders; support root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action processes.
  • Maintain calibration and proper handling of inspection tools and gauges.
  • Ensure IQC records, test results, and reports are accurately completed and stored in accordance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate with the engineering and manufacturing teams to clarify drawing details or quality standards when discrepancies occur.
  • Participate in developing and updating incoming inspection criteria, checklists, and test procedures, especially for new cable designs and mechanical assemblies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline inspection methods and improve overall quality control effectiveness.

  • Onboard and become familiar with the incoming material and tools.
  • Report findings and results using existing internal tools.
  • Become familiar with the testing and calibration process of the system.
By 6 months you’ll…
  • Take over full responsibility for IQC from the engineering team.
  • Provide feedback on engineering documentation to facilitate the inspection process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the inspection process.
  • Begin to be knowledgeable enough to facilitate debugging and testing machines in use at customer sites or within our internal development lab.
At 12+ months you’ll…
  • Actively support the growth of the Manufacturing team.
  • Own more direct communication of inspection results to internal teams and vendors.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements
Who You Are
  • Associates Degree or other 2-year technical diploma preferred OR 5+ years of military training and experience testing, and troubleshooting of large military platforms to be considered in lieu of technical diploma.
  • 1-2+ years experience performing IQC, QC, or QA inspections for mechanical, electrical, or cable components
  • Strong capability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, including wiring diagrams and connector callouts.
  • Proficient in using precision measurement tools and electrical test equipment.
    ● Working knowledge of quality inspection methodologies and statistical tools (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, ISO 2859).
