BOSTON PLANT – South Boston Manufacturing Center

We are hiring licensed Engineers and Firemen to work as Boiler Plant Operators in our power generation facility. As an operator, you will own your shift and the equipment, ensuring reliable, efficient production while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Operate and maintain 7 MW co‑generation combined cycle equipment—including steam turbines, boilers, chillers, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, and process water systems.
• Manage water treatment and permit compliance testing.
• Respond to production changes, including shift duration adjustments and rotating schedules that vary from 8 to 12‑hour days.
• Provide leadership and teamwork on 7‑day operations, including overtime and weekend work as needed.

• Age 18 or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Required safety personal protective equipment: eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes.
• Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts 2nd Class Firemen’s License or higher, maintained to compliance.
• Experience with compressed air, chillers, turbines, boilers, reverse osmosis, sea water, process water, and wastewater systems.

• Use basic hand and power tools.
• Lift 50 pounds and perform bending, stooping, climbing, standing, and moving on stairs, ladders, and platforms.
• Enter confined spaces.
• Stand on concrete floors for extended periods.

Full‑time. 7‑day operation; shifts range from 8 to 12 hours, with single straight or rotating shifts. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

$37.03 per hour, with potential to earn up to $45.61 per hour with shift differential and career progression. Compensation is based on location, role, credentials, and experience. Total rewards include salary, bonus (if applicable), and benefits.
