Reed Farm is a poultry farm and processor located in Sunderland, MA. We are hiring a Cut and Pack Manager for our processing facility. The Cut and Pack Manager leads a small team (3-4 people) in cutting, packing, order fulfillment, and deliveries of our own chicken products and also those of other farms whose birds we process in our facility.

Responsibilities

The Cut and Pack Manager works closely with farm owners Peter and Kat to produce fresh and frozen chicken products for sale throughout Massachusetts. The Cut and Pack Manager ensures that weekly orders are cut to a high quality standard, packed and delivered on a set schedule in a timely and safe manner, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment, team member safety and well-being, and efficient work flow.

Additionally, the Cut and Pack Manager assists with frozen inventory management, coordinates deliveries with drivers, and performs other tasks as needed in the course of cut and pack operations.

Experience

Minimum of two years experience working in butchery or wholesale or retail meat packaging is preferred but not required. Minimum two years food service or agriculture experience required. Willing to train the right person.

The Cut and Pack Manager has a mind for details, strong organizational skills, is able to maintain a clean and sanitary environment, adhere to regulatory guidelines for safe handling of meat products, skillfully cut poultry to create various products, maintain a high quality standard, provide leadership and training to other team members, communicate effectively with owners and coworkers, and maintain a positive atmosphere in the workplace.

This position involves long hours working in refrigerated spaces handling cold meat, so a certain fortitude and ability to prepare for and endure this environment is essential. An ability to drive delivery vans and operate in a warehouse setting is also a plus.

Schedule

Full time, year-round.

Compensation

$25-30 hr based on experience, accrued sick time, paid vacation.
