Associate:
Operations & Manufacturing (Open to all U.S. locations)

A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice serves middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms, helping portfolio companies improve operating performance. The Operations group specializes in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, SG&A, and sales force effectiveness.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations, including organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
• Assess the maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review historical and current data to gauge efficiency and capacity, covering equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts, and detailed production numbers.
• Engage with employees and external stakeholders to gain shop floor insights and validate findings.
• Identify cost‑improvement opportunities through lean practices, outsourcing, or facility consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans, including risk identification and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee deliverable quality and manage day‑to‑day team relationships to ensure exceptional performance.

• 2‑5 plus years of professional experience, with at least 3 years focused on manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in at least one of the following areas:
  • Supply Chain Operations
  • Manufacturing Operations, SI&O
  • Footprint optimization, plant consolidation, and product line transfer
  • Manufacturing strategy, Cap Ex planning, and Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT
  • Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering
• Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Experience designing and leading internal or external change and communication strategies.
• Prior strategy and change‑management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

The salary range is $90,000–$130,000 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Full‑time employees working 30+ hours per week are eligible for 401(k) contributions, health, vision, and dental plans, paid time off, and parental leave, among other benefits.
