About the Company
The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is an engineering and custom cable manufacturing company based in Boston, Massachusetts. FEC is AS9100D certified and provides custom cable design and assembly to defense and aerospace customers. Major customers include leading defense contractors such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics and the United States Government. FEC has aggressive growth plans and is looking for an experienced Testing Technician in the Quality Control Department.
Role OverviewThe Testing Technician will test cable and wire products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulations. Responsibilities include performing electrical and functional tests, reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications, and maintaining accurate documentation in the internal database.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct visual and electrical tests on cable and wire products to meet performance requirements.
- Perform functional tests as required to verify design operation.
- Document and maintain test results in the internal database.
- Detect and report non-conforming products, materials, or conditions to the Quality Manager.
- Collaborate with internal personnel and departments to resolve quality issues.
- Comply with company policies and quality management system.
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered work environment following 5S principles.
- Troubleshoot nonconforming cables and complete nonconformance reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in quality control, preferably in cable and wire manufacturing.
- Experience performing electrical and functional testing desired.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
The position requires frequent sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, walking, and handling assemblies. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and has the ability to see details at close range, color vision, depth perception, and focus. All duties are performed in compliance with ITAR; applicants must be U.S. persons.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour.
- Full‑time position, 8‑hour day shift, Monday to Friday with overtime.
