Full-Time, Hourly Position Summary

Latitude Beverage — the fast‑growing wine & spirits company behind award‑winning brands including Wheel Horse Whiskey, Copper & Cask and Buddy’s American Vodka — is seeking a Spirits Production Assistant to support all post‑distillation production activities, including receiving, blending, proofing, filtration, cask finishing, and quality control for both vodka and whiskey. This hands‑on role focuses on rectification, finishing, and compliance, not distillation.

The position will also participate in barrel sampling, sensory evaluation, and batch preparation for bottling.

Key Responsibilities Rectifying & Blending
  • Assist with blending operations for vodka and whiskey according to production specifications.
  • Support proofing activities, including accurate measurement, dilution calculations, and compliance checks.
  • Help operate blending tanks, pumps, and bottling systems.
  • Maintain an orderly workplace by cleaning sample cups, tasting glasses, pitchers, pumps, and tanks.
Barrel Work & Finishing
  • Participate in barrel sampling, including pulling samples, labeling, recording data, and supporting sensory evaluations.
  • Assist with barrel dumping, refilling, rinsing, and transfers.
  • Monitor finishing tanks and barrels for maturity, color, aroma, and consistency.
  • Record barrel movements and contribute to barrel inventory management.
Quality Control & Sensory
  • Conduct routine sensory checks of vodka and whiskey under supervision.
  • Perform clarity, proof, aroma, and color assessments.
  • Help prepare and document sample panels for internal review.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
  • Maintain accurate logs for batching, proofing, filtration, and barrel operations.
  • Support TTB‑compliant gauging, inventory, and finished product documentation.
  • Assist with traceability and batch tracking for all rectified spirits.
Production Support
  • Prepare batches for bottling, including filtration, tank/barrel verification, and staging.
  • Assist with receiving bulk spirits and raw materials.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of tanks, hoses, pumps, and work areas.
  • Safely use production equipment, pallet jacks, and other handling tools.
  • Assist with bottling operations as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Genuine interest in spirits and whiskey production, blending and quality control.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically active environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
  • Comfort working with numbers, measurements, and precise procedures.
  • Clear communication and willingness to learn hands‑on tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Google suite of software, especially Google Sheets.
  • Ability and willingness to learn distillery management software.
Preferred
  • Background in beverage production, food science, chemistry, fermentation, or a related field.
  • Experience in a distillery, brewery, or winery environment.
  • Sensory evaluation experience or strong sensory acuity.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to train.
