Senior Program Coordinator in the NEALS Program & Communications office collaborates with the program manager in planning, coordinating, and executing strategic initiatives, communications, and program deliverables across NEALS programs and events. This role coordinates program activity timelines, facilitates cross‑functional working groups, and supports communications and marketing initiatives that advance NEALS priorities. The position serves as a central program liaison for NEALS initiatives, ensuring communication for alignment between leadership, working groups, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Participate in planning, coordination, execution, and modification of NEALS initiatives to support strategic priorities and on‑schedule delivery.
- Facilitate and coordinate NEALS working group activities including the GROW, Biorepository Committee, NICE Working Group, and ALS Organizations Forum.
- Develop meeting agendas aligned with strategic priorities; facilitate meetings and working sessions; track, monitor, and ensure timelines and program milestones.
- Track and drive follow‑up on action items; coordinate stakeholders' participation across institutions and organizations.
- Monitor timelines and execution of NEALS initiatives: develop and maintain program plans; monitor and communicate progress toward goals and deliverables; identify risks and coordinate solutions with leadership; ensure operational alignment across NEALS teams and programs.
- Participate in coordination and implementation of new NEALS initiatives and strategic programs, ensuring timely delivery and effective execution.
- Support communications and marketing initiatives across NEALS programs and events: develop and deliver NEALS communications strategy; manage and track communications deliverables; serve as point person for newsletters, website, member communications, marketing materials, collateral, and leadership presentations.
- Engage with team to develop and execute NEALS social media strategy.
- Maintain the NEALS contact database and member portal.
- Coordinate communications and program elements of the Annual NEALS Meeting: design, draft and print communication materials; coordinate workshops and member training sessions; prepare and conduct analysis of participant surveys.
- Complete processes that support NEALS membership growth and engagement: track and distribute new member applications; coordinate membership communications and engagement initiatives; maintain systems supporting member engagement and communication.
- As a member of the NEALS Operations team, contribute to coordination and execution of meetings and events: prepare event materials (agendas, slide decks, program materials); contribute to event communications and registration coordination; coordinate vendors, audiovisual services, and event logistics; assist with abstract and poster preparation; contribute to operational execution of meetings and member events.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience supporting program operations in at least one of the following settings: program management, project management, communications, nonprofit operations, healthcare, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study required.
- Understanding of program operations, non‑profit communications, community outreach, and marketing/social media.
- Strong administrative, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to apply sound judgment, appropriate engagement, and serve as an effective resource and representative of the program.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing communications and marketing materials.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet event and meeting needs, including work schedule adjustments.
- Ability to influence and negotiate to ensure schedules, deliverables, meetings, and other program needs are attained.
