Senior Principal, PLM Product Marketing

Location:

Boston, MA. PTC is seeking a seasoned product marketing professional to lead strategic messaging, positioning, and go‑to‑market execution for its PLM portfolio. The role is an individual contributor that drives cross‑portfolio solution stories and serves as a trusted advisor to product leaders, sales executives, and senior marketing leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Messaging & Positioning
    • Develop differentiated messaging for key PLM areas targeting engineering leaders, IT decision‑makers, and C‑suite executives across Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Medical Devices, Electronics & High‑Tech.
    • Collaborate with teammates to build cross‑portfolio narratives linking PLM to CAD, ALM, SLM, and IoT.
  • Go‑to‑Market Execution
    • Drive GTM strategy for PLM product launches, feature releases, and platform milestones.
    • Partner with Growth Marketing and Demand Generation to create campaign themes and accelerate pipeline.
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence
    • Conduct deep competitive analysis and market research to inform positioning and reveal whitespace opportunities.
    • Engage with analysts (Gartner, IDC, Forrester), press, and industry influencers to strengthen market position.
  • Sales Enablement & Customer Advocacy
    • Create sales enablement materials such as battle cards, solution guides, and competitive comparisons.
    • Develop buyer personas, journey maps, and customer proof points to accelerate win rates.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Work with Product Management to translate roadmap capabilities into market‑facing value propositions.
    • Coordinate with Industry Advisors, Solutions Marketing, and Customer Success to ground narratives in real customer outcomes.
Must‑Have Qualifications
  • 8+ years of product marketing, solutions marketing, or GTM strategy experience in B2B enterprise software, with deep PLM, engineering software, or adjacent manufacturing technology expertise.
  • Proven track record of developing strategic messaging and positioning that differentiates in competitive markets.
  • Experience in portfolio‑level and solution‑level marketing, translating single product capabilities into integrated solution stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across complex organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional communication (written, verbal, and visual).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
  • Experienced with AI and generative AI tools for market research, competitive analysis, and content creation.
  • Background in cloud/SaaS transformation of traditionally on‑premise software.
  • Familiarity with CAD, ALM, Simulation, IoT, SLM and their intersection with PLM.
  • Experience in target industries:
    Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Medical Devices, Electronics & High‑Tech.
  • Prior roles involving analyst relations (Gartner, IDC, Forrester) and competitive benchmarking.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLM platforms such as Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia, Arena, or similar.
Compensation

Annual salary range: $131,000 – $170,500, plus performance‑based bonus. Eligible for PTC equity programs and share purchase options.
