About ULI Boston

The Urban Land Institute is a nonprofit research and education organization with 48,000 members across every discipline of land use and real estate. ULI Boston is one of our most active district councils, bringing together developers, planners, architects, public officials and investors from across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Our events calendar is central to how we deliver value to members. From committee programming and speaker series to convenings, tours and member network gatherings, we run a high volume of events throughout the year. We aim for each one to feel genuinely relevant and well‑run, not generic. That is where this role comes in.

The Role

We are looking for a Program and Events Manager to be the operational center of ULI Boston's events and programming activity. You will work closely with the Executive Director, committee chairs and member leaders to plan and deliver a full calendar of events, taking ownership of logistics, communications and member experience from planning through to the day itself.

This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. You are not supporting someone else's events calendar, you are running it. The work is varied, member‑facing and visible. What you produce shapes how hundreds of members experience ULI Boston every year.

Responsibilities Events Planning and Delivery
  • Plan and execute ULI Boston's committee‑driven events calendar, including speaker series, panel discussions, tours, round tables and member gatherings.
  • Manage all event logistics: venue sourcing and contracting, catering, invitations, marketing, registration and on‑site coordination.
  • Work with committee chairs and member leads to develop programming that resonates with our membership.
  • Understand what makes a meaningful ULI Boston event and be able to distinguish that from content that serves a sponsor rather than the member.
Local Product Council Coordination
  • Support ULI Boston's local product councils, cohort‑based member groups that meet throughout the year.
  • Handle scheduling, invitations, speaker coordination and communications for each council's programming cycle.
  • Spot opportunities where two member groups want to hear about the same topic and bring them together rather than running parallel events.
  • Be the connecting thread between multiple member groups, the person everyone can rely on to know what is happening and keep things moving.
Member Communications and Coordination
  • Manage event‑related communications: invitations, reminders, follow‑ups and member correspondence.
  • Work with the Director of Programs and Events and the Executive Director on member outreach and engagement.
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors, venues and partners in the Boston market.
What We Are Looking For

We need someone who is organized, personable and good at making things happen. The right person for this role manages a busy calendar, works well with a wide range of people and delivers events that feel professional, well‑run and genuinely valuable.

  • Events coordination or program administration experience. You have managed events from planning through execution, and you are comfortable owning the process end to end.
  • Strong organizational skills. You are managing multiple events at different stages at the same time, and nothing gets dropped.
  • Member or stakeholder communication experience. You are comfortable being the central point of contact for committee chairs, vendors, members and speakers.
  • Vendor management experience. You have worked with caterers, venues and AV teams and know how to get good outcomes without overspending.
  • An interest in the built environment, urban development or real estate is a plus. You do not need to be an expert, but genuine curiosity will help you understand what matters to our members.
  • Based in or close to Boston. The role is primarily in‑office Tuesday through Thursday,…
