In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half‑time in a degree, diploma, or certificate‑seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre‑registered for the upcoming fall semester.
  • This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Annual Giving Assistant plays an important role in supporting the Office of Annual Giving's fundraising and engagement initiatives. This position serves as a key ambassador for Annual Giving and student-facing initiatives across campus, helping to build strong connections between donors, students, and student organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Video Campaigns & Donor Engagement Portfolio Stewardship:
    Manage an assigned portfolio (group) of donors, sending personalized video updates and outreach throughout the year as part of ongoing engagement efforts.
  • Video Production:
    Film personalized video messages for donors using the Thank View platform.
  • Scripting & Writing:
    Memorize provided scripts, and occasionally write original, creative scripts tailored to specific donor audiences and campaign goals.
  • Content Creation & Editing:
    Create and edit custom add‑on videos (such as "Day in the Life of a Berklee Student" clips or campus feature highlights).
  • Student Storytelling:
    Go out on campus to interview Berklee students and capture authentic stories to share with donors.
  • Campus Outreach & Student Engagement Campus Ambassador:
    Act as an enthusiastic, visible representative for Annual Giving and student-facing initiatives across campus.
  • Club & Organization Liaison:
    Serve as a bridge between Annual Giving and student clubs/organizations to coordinate joint initiatives.
  • Giving Day & Event Support:
    Assist in planning, promoting, and executing student philanthropy efforts, with a major focus on Giving Day.
  • Event Tabling:
    Staff on‑campus event tables and confidently engage with students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Volunteer Recruitment:
    Mobilize and recruit student volunteers to participate in videomshoots, tablings, and donor engagement activities.
  • Database & Administrative Support:
    Enter data and interaction notes into Raiser's Edge NXT, Berklee's advancement database; assist with direct mailings (folding, stuffing, labeling) and data tracking; help manage project timelines, donor spreadsheets, and administrative workflows.
Preferred skills and experience
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward Berklee, the Conservatory, and philanthropy.
  • Comfortable on camera, conducting student interviews, and creating video content.
  • Confident public speaker who is comfortable approaching and engaging with people at campus events and tablings.
  • Familiarity with video editing and graphic design platforms (Canva proficiency is a plus).
  • Strong writing skills for email copy and creative video scripts.
  • Ability to memorize scripts and deliver natural on‑camera messaging.
  • Organized, dependable, and capable of managing deadlines and donor portfolios effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team alongside diverse student populations.
  • Comfortable working remotely and in person as needed.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.).

Hourly Rate: $16.97
