Job Summary

The Vice President, Enterprise Internal Communications leads the enterprise internal communications function, ensuring the effective planning, execution, and continuous evolution of communications that inform, engage, and inspire employees across a global organization.
Reporting to the EVP, Global Brand & Communications, this role is responsible for advancing communications excellence through modern operating practices, communications planning, editorial operations, governance, measurement, and the adoption of emerging technologies—including Generative AI—to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and employee experience.
The Vice President serves as a strategic operational partner to Business Unit Alignment and Communications teams by providing enterprise communications leadership, shared capabilities, and consultation that enable consistent, high-quality communications across the organization. Through leadership of the Enterprise Communications Community of Practice, this role establishes enterprise standards, best practices, and scalable ways of working while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across Liberty Mutual's communications community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Enterprise Internal Communications function, translating enterprise priorities into communications strategies and execution plans that support business objectives, organizational change, and employee engagement.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to deliver effective communications that connect employees to Liberty Mutual's strategy, culture, and priorities. Ensure communications are coordinated, aligned, and delivered consistently across the enterprise through effective planning and governance.
- Lead the communications function including planning, editorial operations, governance, resource management, and service delivery to ensure efficient, high-quality execution.
- Modernize the communications function through the responsible adoption of Generative AI, automation, and emerging technologies that improve productivity, quality, measurement, and employee experience.
- Drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes, enhancing workflows, and implementing scalable communications capabilities that support evolving business needs.
- Partner with Business Unit Alignment and Communications teams to provide enterprise communications support, consultation, and shared services that strengthen communications planning and execution.
- Lead the Enterprise Communications Community of Practice, establishing communications standards, governance, editorial best practices, and common tools that promote consistency while supporting business-specific needs.
- Foster collaboration, capability building, and knowledge sharing across the communications community to strengthen enterprise communications effectiveness.
- Establish meaningful metrics and leverage analytics, employee feedback, and insights to evaluate communications effectiveness and continuously improve communications strategies, channels, and content.
- Identify opportunities to enhance communications through innovation, data-driven decision making, and evolving communications technologies.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Build future-ready communications capabilities by developing expertise in strategic communications, change management, digital communications, analytics, and AI-enabled ways of working.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field required;
