Content Marketing Manager | Legal AI, Innovation & Client Strategy | $180K Base + Bonus
I'm partnering exclusively with a highly regarded U.S. law firm on a newly created role that sits at an unusually compelling intersection of AI, legal technology, strategic communications, client engagement and business development
.
Despite the title, this is not a traditional content marketing position
.
The firm is making a meaningful investment in how it brings its technology and innovation capabilities to market. They're looking for someone who can understand the rapidly evolving world of AI, GenAI, legal technology and data
, then translate that complexity into a clear and differentiated story that senior lawyers can confidently take into sophisticated client conversations.
You'll become a key strategic partner to senior lawyers and firm leadership, helping define how the firm talks about AI and innovation to the market
.
Your remit will include:
- Owning and evolving the firm's client-facing narrative around AI, GenAI, legal technology, data and innovation
- Translating sophisticated technology into clear, credible and commercially compelling messaging
- Preparing senior lawyers for strategic client meetings, pitches, panels and industry conversations
- Developing executive-level thought leadership, client communications, digital content and marketing collateral
- Shaping AI and technology responses for RFPs, client surveys and outside counsel questionnaires
- Tracking competitors and the broader legal market to understand how leading firms are positioning themselves as AI reshapes the industry
- Partnering with Business Development, Finance and Legal Operations to analyze client and financial data and identify growth opportunities, workload trends and potential risks
- Turning complex research and data into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Helping build the playbook for a newly created function
, rather than inheriting a narrowly defined role
The ideal candidate is difficult to put into a conventional box, and that's intentional.
You could come from law-firm marketing/communications, business development, legal innovation, knowledge management, legal operations, legal technology or client strategy
.
What matters most is the combination of:
- Exceptional communication, writing and storytelling ability
- Credibility working with senior lawyers, executives and sophisticated clients
- Genuine curiosity and fluency around AI, GenAI and emerging legal technology
- Ability to make complex technical concepts accessible without oversimplifying them
- Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how professional-services organizations grow Comfort working with market, client and financial data to uncover meaningful insights
- The judgment to operate across technology, business strategy and executive communications
They're not looking for an engineer
, and they're not looking for someone who simply produces marketing collateral. They want someone capable of becoming the connective tissue between the firm's technology capabilities and its client relationships
.
AI is rapidly changing not only how legal work gets done, but how sophisticated clients evaluate their outside counsel
. This person will have a direct hand in determining how an established firm responds to that shift and differentiates itself in the market.
Because the position is newly created, there is significant opportunity to shape the mandate, build relationships across the firm and establish what the function becomes over time
.
Compensation: up to $180K base + bonus, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
