This role is hybrid so you must be able to come to the office downtown Boston once or twice a week.
What We DoRocket Alumni Solutions makes web-based touchscreen software for schools (1,500+ clients across the US). Athletic directors and advancement teams use us to turn decades of photos, records, and stories into interactive halls of fame, donor walls, and alumni showcases. Everything we build runs as a website on any device: touchscreens, phones, laptops, tablets. As an AI-native company, we push the boundaries of web development to make the highly complex feel simple, and we help schools engage alumni and donors at scale.
The RoleAs our Content Marketing Manager, you'll report to the Head of Growth Marketing. You primarily own the organic side of how Rocket shows up in the world: the content on our founder and company social pages, founder-led video. Additionally, you'll own the conferences and events we attend and host, and future affiliate program. We're an AI-forward company: an AI agent already works alongside the marketing team, drafting, researching, repurposing, and pulling reports.
Your job is to set the direction and the quality bar, and to turn attention into demos.
- Own organic social on our founder and company pages. Plan the calendar, write and produce the posts, and grow reach and engagement that shows up in the pipeline. Follower counts are a means, not the goal.
- Produce founder-led video end to end: concept, script, shot list, filming and editing with our design team, and distribution. Short-form for social, longer walkthroughs and customer stories for You Tube and sales. You'll get real access to the founder's time and need to make every session count. We have a Freelancer Editor who will edit the videos, you would be only responsible for content generation.
- Turn customer moments into content: hall of fame unveilings, donor wall launches, senior nights, ribbon cuttings. Capture them, package them for social and video, and hand the article-worthy ones to our writing lead.
- Use our AI agents to scale: one founder video becomes a week of posts, first drafts land in your inbox, reports run themselves. You decide what's worth publishing.
- Report on what's working: reach and engagement by channel, event-sourced and affiliate-sourced demos, and what you'd change next.
- Run events: conference presence on the athletic director and advancement circuits (NADC and the like), booth and collateral coordination with design, pre- and post-event outreach with sales, and other logistics. You own the plan, the follow-up, and the pipeline attribution. We planned only three conferences for 2027 for now (prone to change, but low likelihood), and one left to attend in December this year.
- Run the affiliate program: recruit affiliates and referral partners, onboard them, give them assets and tracking links, and keep payouts and reporting clean, so partners have an easy way to send schools our way.
- 3+ years in content or social media marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS startup, with proof that your content moved a business number (demos, pipeline, signups) and not only an audience number.
- You can write a hook, shoot and edit a short video, and run a booth in the same week. You don't need a production crew to ship.
- Comfortable on camera and directing others on camera. You know how to get a founder to say the interesting thing in 45 seconds.
- Organized. Events and affiliate programs have a lot of moving parts, and you're the person who keeps track of all of them.
- AI-native. You use AI daily, you've tried the content and video tools the platforms offer, and you'd rather build a workflow with an agent than repeat a task by hand.
- Analytical enough to know which posts, events, emails, and partners drove demos, and why.
- Willing to travel for a handful of conferences and customer visits each year.
- You'll get ownership in a team of five, and a direct hand in how an AI-native company does growth marketing, backed by a product that 1,500+ schools already rely on.
- We were fully bootstrapped until last year, when we raised our first Series A round. Today we're a team of ~45 people, with dozens of contractors globally.
- We run on AI agents, with heavy investment in AI tooling and agent infrastructure. You'll have more leverage here than at companies ten times our size.
- Remote, or a hybrid schedule if you're in the Boston area.
