About Us: Garment Valet is not your typical laundry company. We’ve been serving Boston residents, high-rise buildings, and commercial clients for decades. The company was voted the Best of Boston by Boston Magazine in 2025. In Fall 2025, we decided to launch a student-powered growth team made up of multiple interns working together to expand our reach. If you love connecting with people, thinking creatively, and working in a comfortable, startup-style space (with unlimited coffee and free laundry), this is your spot.
Garment Valet is expanding its mission through the creation of a nonprofit initiative focused on global access, financial stability, and practical support for international and first-generation students. This organization will address gaps in access to essential resources such as housing, healthcare navigation, communication tools, and academic support — reducing barriers that can significantly impact a newcomer’s ability to succeed.
We are in the early stages of forming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and this internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to participate directly in building a mission-driven organization from the ground up. To accelerate this work, we are collaborating with Do Good, a Nonprofit-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform that allows mission-driven companies to instantly launch a nonprofit under an established 501(c)(3). Through Do Good’s infrastructure — legal structure, donation processing, campaign tools, reporting, and automation — we can focus on high-impact program development while they handle the complex administrative and compliance-related back office.
This partnership ensures that meaningful impact can be embedded directly into Garment Valet’s business model from day one.
The Nonprofit Development & Global Access Associate will be a key contributor in the incorporation and early development of our new nonprofit initiative. Thanks to our collaboration with Do Good, you will gain behind-the-scenes insight into how modern nonprofit infrastructure is built using a NaaS model. You will learn how organizations leverage established 501(c)(3) frameworks to launch faster, streamline operations, and ensure compliance without traditional overhead.
Under the direct supervision of Adam Jacknow, President, and with support from Do Good’s structured tools and workflows, you’ll receive mentorship and hands‑on experience in nonprofit governance, financial planning, legal compliance, organizational design, and strategic development. You will also collaborate closely with our social media manager, who oversees our grant-related initiatives and contributes to program strategy and communications. Together, we will mentor you throughout the cohort.
This position is for students interested in nonprofit management, social impact, global development, financial strategy, or community-building initiatives. This nonprofit initiative is an ambitious, ground‑up effort — and its progress will directly reflect the intern’s drive, commitment, and ownership. The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Takes full ownership of their work and approaches the project with an entrepreneurial mindset. This role requires someone who is comfortable being in the driver’s seat; leadership will support and guide, but the intern will be steering the direction of this initiative day-to-day.
- Is highly self-directed and resourceful
, with a proven ability to learn independently, research unfamiliar topics, and take initiative without waiting for step-by-step instruction. - Maintains excellent attendance and reliability. Because of the hands‑on, fast-moving nature of this work, consistent in-person presence is essential for momentum and collaboration.
- Thrives on responsibility and is motivated by building something meaningful from the ground up.…
