  • Full-time, Sunday–Thursday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Hours may change based on department or agency needs
  • Additional hours in evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required
Job Summary

The Recovery Support Center staffing includes a manager and three Coordinators, all of whom are people in recovery. The three Coordinators each have core duties to the Center and the members, but also each have a special focus as summarized below. The coordinators work together, as well as with the Manager, peer leaders, and members, to ensure that the Recovery Support Center is a safe, welcoming, supportive, and consistent community for people who are sober and in recovery.

Coordinators must be committed to championing recovery, providing and encouraging peer‑to‑peer support and helping to shape and organize the overall Peer Participatory Process that is the heart of the RSC model. Coordinators expected to act as positive role models and peer mentors, providing guidance, support, and access to key resources that help members on their recovery journey, no matter what pathway of recovery they choose.

The Community Outreach Coordinator is a vital member of the Recovery Support Center. This position is part of a team of employees, who work together to ensure that the Recovery Support Center is a safe, welcoming, supportive and consistent community for people who are sober and in recovery. The Community Outreach Coordinator provides guidance, knowledge, support and access to resources within SFH and/or within the local Boston area while respecting and supporting the pathway of recovery the member may choose.

The Community Outreach Coordinator champions’ recovery provides and encourages peer‑to‑peer support to help, shape and organize the overall Peer Participatory Process that is the heart of the RSC model.

Outreach Duties Essential duties / responsibilities
  • Stays up to date about resources for members ncis House.
  • Acts as a key connector to SFH services that can benefit members.
  • Explores the local Boston area for ideas of people and organizations that could make positive contributions to the Center and its members.
  • Conducts outreach to educate and inform the Boston community about the Center services and find ways to promote Multiple Pathways of Recovery.
  • Provides coaching/mentoring to members.
  • Upholds Center’s Code of Ethics, Boundaries with and between members and illustrate trauma-informed, recovery oriented values.
  • Reinforces positive messages of recovery through actions, including language that represents a stigma‑free community.
  • Participates and assists fellow coordinators in providing support for peer‑led activities and events as well as collaborating with other SFH staff to engage and support members to other SFH programs.
  • Welcomes people to the center, provides center orientations, membership enrollments, and scans membership cards.
  • Intervenes respectfully to ensure members are abiding by the shared expectations, practices and values of the Center.
  • Enters basic information into database that keeps all required documentation current to track member participation.
General Coordinator Duties
  • Promote a safe, recovery-positive environment.
  • Uphold trauma-informed, person-centered practices.
  • Encourage member participation in peer‑led activities and events.
  • Provide Center orientation and manage membership processes.
  • Intervene respectfully when behavior does not align with Center expectations.
  • Support members in developing recovery‑focused ideas and activities.
  • Share recovery resources and event information.
  • Collaborate with SFH staff and programs.
  • Maintain attendance records and support annual member surveys.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training.
  • Respond to urgent situations, including de‑escalating behavior and using naloxone in emergencies.
  • Adheres to agency code of conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
