Overview
Food Link is an Arlington-based community organization that envisions a world in which everyone has abundant nourishing food and a food system in which no edible food goes to waste. We rescue surplus fresh food that would otherwise be wasted and deliver it to community organizations serving people in need throughout Greater Boston.
Volunteer Opportunities (Roxbury)We are looking for volunteers for Food Link's secondary Roxbury location who are interested in food rescue and want to make a difference in the community by reducing food waste and helping to provide food to people in need.
In Roxbury, volunteer shifts are available Monday through Friday between 8 am and 3:30 pm. Food Link currently focuses on project-based shifts; we do not yet offer regular weekly shifts. We encourage you to sign up to volunteer, as we frequently announce one-time or short-term opportunities via email/text that match sudden needs.
Tasks may include sorting food at the warehouse at 30 Northampton St or driving your own car for deliveries to our recipient agencies. Our schedule is expanding; we may offer more regular volunteer opportunities in Roxbury soon. You can also check out our Arlington schedule if interested.
How to JoinSubmit your contact information if you are interested, and our volunteer coordinator will get back to you with next steps. You can also read more about our volunteer opportunities on our website https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
