We operate four health centers and offer telehealth statewide as part of a network of 600 Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide.

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) seeks an experienced and strategic Director of Annual Giving and Donor Engagement to lead and grow our annual fundraising, donor stewardship, and engagement programs. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role will develop and execute multi‑channel annual giving campaigns, strengthen donor relationships, increase donor retention and acquisition, and oversee a comprehensive stewardship program.

The Director will lead a team of two and collaborate across development, marketing, communications, and national Planned Parenthood fundraising partners to drive revenue growth and donor engagement.

Your Day to Day:
Annual Giving Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual giving strategy to achieve revenue, donor retention, acquisition, and participation goals.
  • Create and oversee segmented, multi‑channel fundraising campaigns and solicitation plans.
  • Establish and monitor annual giving performance metrics and use data analysis to inform strategy and decision‑making.
  • Manage and grow donor engagement initiatives, including leadership annual giving programs.
  • Develop and manage annual giving and donor engagement budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and strong return on investment.
  • Stay current on trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, marketing, and communications.
Donor Engagement and Stewardship
  • Design and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship program that builds meaningful relationships with donors at all giving levels.
  • Develop innovative strategies to cultivate, recognize, engage, and retain supporters.
  • Create and enhance donor recognition programs that encourage continued and increased giving.
  • Ensure stewardship and engagement communications align with organizational priorities and fundraising objectives.
Campaign Execution and Collaboration
  • Lead the planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns, appeals, and donor communications.
  • Develop creative briefs, messaging strategies, and campaign goals in collaboration with development, marketing, and communications colleagues.
  • Review and approve fundraising and stewardship materials to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with organizational messaging.
  • Partner closely with major and planned giving staff to integrate annual giving efforts with broader fundraising strategies.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants as needed.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and support a team of fundraising professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing team environment.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities for direct reports.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in organizational initiatives that support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of fundraising experience with demonstrated success in annual giving and donor engagement.
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing segmented fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff.
  • Proficiency with fundraising CRM systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice, and to advancing equity and inclusion.

$120,000 yearly salary

Based on a 37.5 hour work week.
