Principal Gift Officer

F. Kennedy Library Foundation seeks a Principal Gift Officer to help advance JFK’s legacy and promote civic engagement across New England.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Principal Gift Officer will manage a portfolio of leadership donors and prospects while securing six- and seven-figure gifts that advance the Foundation's ambitious mission.

• Responsible for qualifying 200–250 higher-capacity prospects, narrowing the pool to 100-plus viable donor prospects
• Serve as primary relationship manager to cultivate, steward, retain, and upgrade a portfolio of 100-plus major individual donors and prospects
• Develop an understanding of and travel frequently to assigned region(s) to achieve annual fundraising goals and to develop pipeline of future fundraising activity
• Lead complex, multi-stakeholder solicitations involving trustees, volunteers, board leadership, and senior Foundation staff to secure leadership gifts
• Manage all phases of the gift cycle, including identifying and qualifying new prospects

• At least seven years of frontline fundraising or related experience is required in major and leadership gift cultivation and solicitation and portfolio management, including donor stewardship and prospect research
• A proven fundraising track record that includes directly soliciting, negotiating, and closing six- and seven-figure gifts
• A strong command of fundraising principles, including experience with annual giving and planned giving
• Ability to develop, implement, and assess effective donor-centered fundraising strategies
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with prospects, donors, and volunteers with a customer-service orientation
