Job Opening:
The Department of Conservation and Recreation, seeks applicants for a Public Health Intern (Unpaid Contracted Student Interns) for 2026 Fall Semester to perform the duties listed below on a part-time basis. Please submit a cover letter and resume as part of the application process. This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field.

Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.

General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will work with the DCR Public Health Specialist with administrative and research tasks related to the Agency's state-wide public health protocols, programs and initiatives.

Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research regional resources for persons experiencing homelessness.
  • Create an online library of resources for five (5) parks regions and two (2) watershed regions.
  • Sit in on meetings with local organizations, municipalities, and other social service partners.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Public health background preferred. Interest in working in homelessness, housing, or vulnerable populations. Ability to curate a library of resources in an easy-to-access understandable manner. Sensitivity to the subject. Communication skills.
