Position Summary:
The Manager of Local Food Donors is responsible for the oversight of The Greater Boston Food Bank's (GBFB) local food retail donation program by developing relationships and partnerships with existing and prospective food donors. The Manager of Local Food Donors is focused on maximizing donated food pounds and prospects for GBFB's Partner Agencies to achieve GBFB metrics and help achieve our mission to End Hunger Here.
The Manager of Local Food Donors achieves this by implementing strategies to scale retail donations and food recovery efforts.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage GBFB's Retail Donation Program servicing more than 400 donors and 200 Partner Agencies.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with current, lapsed, and prospective retail donors to secure food donations, drive donor retention, and identify opportunities for donation growth.
- Establish and communicate donation goals with local donors, monitor performance against targets, and develop strategies to recognize donor engagement and growth.
- Identify, acquire, and manage new donor accounts by establishing relationships, arranging site visits, and communicating our mission.
- Analyze relevant data to identify trends, facilitate informed donation decisions and provide excellent service to the GBFB network.
- Establish a local donor site visit plan, establishing clear objectives and desired outcomes for each engagement.
- Deliver training and guidance to retail donor personnel on GBFB program guidelines, food safety requirements, and best practices for maximizing food recovery.
- Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and timely maintenance of donor and donation data in Salesforce CRM and Net Suite, leveraging these systems to support program management and reporting.
- Document interactions with agencies through Salesforce using cases and tasks to ensure effective resolution of issues.
- Lead the timely resolution of inquiries, concerns, and operational issues raised by retail partners and Partner Agencies, coordinating as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
- Collaborate with GBFB Transportation team to coordinate logistics when needed.
- Collaborate with the Community Impact team to establish a process for managing and collaborating with Partner Agencies participating in the Retail Donation Program.
- Collaborate with GBFB Communications team to recognize donors where applicable.
- Represent GBFB professionally; maintain positive public relations and exceptional customer service.
- Assist the management of relationships with 3rd party food rescue partners to acquire food on GBFB's behalf.

Skills &
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience, with demonstrated success providing high-quality customer service and experience building and fostering strong professional relationships.
- Must possess a professional demeanor along with excellent organizational skills, prioritization skills, attention to detail, written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, deduce, and solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicts.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Massachusetts to meet with donors and agencies, including having a valid Massachusetts driver's license and personal vehicle.
