NOAH Community Environmental Health VISTA

The VISTA will strengthen NOAH’s capacity to develop partnership, outreach, and community education systems that strengthen collaboration among NOAH, community organizations, and institutional partners. The VISTA will develop and pilot tools and processes that improve collaboration and build long-term capacity for addressing local environmental-health challenges. Through these efforts, the VISTA will help create lasting systems and processes that strengthen NOAH’s ability to serve low- and moderate-income residents well beyond the service year.

Neighborhood of Affordable Housing (NOAH) is a community development corporation that increases access to affordable housing, promotes housing stability, expands economic opportunity, and strengthens communities throughout East Boston and the surrounding region. Since 1987, NOAH has worked toward the National Housing Goal of ensuring that every family has access to a decent home and suitable living environment. NOAH’s Community Building programming includes a variety of important neighborhood initiatives, focused on community service, leadership development, and healthy, safe neighborhoods.

Member

Duties :

Member duties will focus on building sustainable partnership, community education, and data-management capacity. The VISTA will develop and pilot partnership outreach and coordination systems; create community education and workshop frameworks; develop informational resources and tools; research grants and other funding resources; and develop data-management processes that support NOAH’s environmental-health initiatives. The VISTA will also evaluate tools and partnership approaches and document systems and resources that can be sustained beyond the service term.
