Newton‑Wellesley Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is a not‑for‑profit institution dedicated to patient care, research, teaching and community service. We seek registered nurses across a broad range of specialty areas to provide highly professional and technical nursing care to a diverse patient population.

Job Summary

Registered nurses will render direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), oversee team members, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires 12‑hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Specialty Areas & Key Requirements
  • Adult GI: 2+ years critical care/GI; ACLS within first year; CCGRN preferred.
  • ARTC (Assisted Reproductive Technologies): BSN required; ASRM RN certificate within 1st year; min. 1 year reproductive endocrinology experience.
  • Cancer Center: 1 year chemo experience; oncology knowledge; 3 years ambulatory oncology preferred; OCN and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Administration Certification Card required.
  • Cardiovascular Center: 2 years critical care; cardiac ICU/CCU/cardiac surgery preferred; IV sedation experience; BLS/ACLS required.
  • Device Clinic: 2 years device clinic experience; pacing programming; BCLS & ACLS required; HRS/NASP preferred.
  • ED: 2 years ED experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI required; CEN or CCRN preferred.
  • ICU: 2 years critical care; ACLS within first year.
  • Labor & Delivery/AETU: 2 years L&D; NRP within first year; fetal monitoring experience preferred.
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine: 2 years perinatal; BSN; BLS; ACLS preferred.
  • Med/Surg: 1 year Med/Surg; telemetry preferred; telemetry training in first year.
  • Mother/Baby: 2 years; NRP within first year.
  • OR: 2 years; peri‑operative nursing program preferred; AORN certification preferred.
  • PACU/Henderson: 2 years PACU; ACLS, PALS required; CPAN/CAPA preferred.
  • Pediatrics: 2 years; NRP required; cross‑trained mother/baby pediatric nurses may also apply.
  • Pedi GI: 2 years; PALS required.
  • Psychiatry: 2 years; CPI required in first month.
  • SCN: 2 years; NRP required.
  • STAT RN: 2 years critical care/urgent; ACLS, PALS, CPI required.
  • Primary Care Triage RN: 2 years triage/ER/urgent care/outpatient; ANCC RN‑BC preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Adhere to hospital standards, promote cooperative work environment, and communicate effectively.
  • Follow departmental policies, ensure quality of services, and keep informed about changes.
  • Independently determine nursing actions within scope of practice.
  • Use nursing process and evidence‑based practice for patient care.
  • Assess physical, psychological, spiritual, cultural and social needs of patients.
  • Provide competent, compassionate, individualized care, updating knowledge and planning accordingly.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing plans with multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with case managers.
  • Maintain patient safety: use two identifiers, infection control, OSHA standards.
  • Administer medication and IV therapy accurately, following the “5 rights.”
  • Document patient progress, education, and medication details consistently.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and cost control measures.
  • Assume charge nurse duties as needed and act as a resource for peers.
  • Advocate for patients, manage urgent situations, and communicate critical information.
Device Clinic RN Role‑Specific Responsibilities
  • Enroll, interrogate, and program outpatient pacemaker patients.
  • Identify abnormalities, notify cardiologists, and schedule follow‑up.
  • Coordinate care, educate patients/families, and communicate with referring physicians.
  • Handle documentation, billing, recall teams, and administrative duties.
  • Maintain policy knowledge and participate in continuing education.
STAT RN Role‑Specific Responsibilities
  • Support rapid responses, code blue, and critical patient transfers.
  • Assist with IV access, phlebotomy, and patient transport for diagnostics.
  • Perform duties under supervision of ICU nursing leadership.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nursing license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 1 year Med/Surg experience required; telemetry experience preferred.
