JobDetails – Interventional Radiology RN, Pediatric Vascular Access
- Location: Boston, MA 02115 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Pediatric IV Therapy Vascular Access Team
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 2/2/2026 – End: 5/4/2026)
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day/Night: 7am-7:30pm, 11am-11:30pm, 3pm-3:30am, 7pm-7am)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 3 of 6 weekends per contract
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Free for night shift; discounted rates and shuttle service for other shifts
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (PERM license required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience on a pediatric vascular access team
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Proven skills in ultrasound-guided IV placement and use of vein finder technology
- Experience with pediatric VAS (Heme Onc, ICU, etc.) and IV placement for pediatric and adult patients
- Ability to float to various hospital units as needed
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access and IV placement for pediatric and adult patients
- Assess veins and recommend appropriate vascular access devices (PICC lines, ports, peripheral IVs)
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot vascular access devices
- Float to different hospital units, adapting to various patient age groups and acuity levels
- Demonstrate advanced IV insertion skills, especially for patients with difficult venous access
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and best practices in clinical care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
