Addiction Staff Nurse
Pay Range: $50–$55/hr
(Both Full-time [3x12 shifts per week] and Part-time [2 shifts per week] roles are available)

Our Behavioral Health Services provide residential and outpatient treatment for individuals living with mental illness and substance use disorders. For many patients, these services are life-stabilizing and life-saving.
The Addiction Staff Nurse plays a critical role in the delivery of safe, structured detoxification and stabilization services. This is a hands‑on clinical role requiring strong assessment skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. Nurses are responsible for monitoring withdrawal, managing medical needs, and supporting patients through early recovery in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities- Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment. - Monitor vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall patient status, responding promptly to changes or emergent conditions.
- Identify and manage co-occurring medical conditions that may impact detoxification or stabilization.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered to manage withdrawal symptoms and medical concerns.
- Provide evidence-based nursing care to promote patient safety, comfort, and stabilization.
- Offer patient education and supportive communication related to detoxification, recovery, and treatment expectations.
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, and other team members to support individualized treatment plans.
- Communicate clearly and professionally regarding patient status, concerns, and care needs.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities as assigned.
- Engage in required training and continuing education to maintain clinical competence.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience in addiction treatment, detoxification, or acute behavioral health settings strongly preferred.
- Solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing and management of co-occurring medical conditions.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high‑stress situations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision‑making skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient dignity, and recovery‑oriented care.
