We care for over 10,000 homeless individuals each year, with clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals working in more than 30 locations to serve the community. Job Summary

Hours: Part-Time;
Day/Evening: 24 hours per week. Shifts include 7:00am – 3:30pm, 7:00am – 7:00pm, 3:00pm – 11:30pm, with every other weekend/holiday and holiday. Union:

BHCHP is seeking a talented and compassionate registered nurse to provide nursing support for respite patients throughout the BHCHP program. This role is crucial to ensure clinically appropriate and timely decisions are made, and actions are taken around patient assessments, administration of medications, treatments, and overall patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Direct nursing care of patients on assigned team to meet all needs in accordance with respite policies, procedures, and Department of Health rules and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate assessments and documentation; report to appropriate personnel (on-call provider, nurse manager, Director of Nursing, etc.).
  • Administer medications and treatments to patients; document per policy; observe and report any adverse reactions.
  • Update and maintain accurate treatment records, flow sheets, and vaccine administration; document appropriately.
  • Participate actively in New Patient Rounds, Team Rounds, and all other team meetings when appropriate.
  • Give and receive shift reports; check narcotics and related drug supplies per policy; sign appropriate forms.
  • Take off orders accurately per policy; assign tasks to and direct Respite Aides; provide verbal reports on patients’ needs.
  • Maintain a professional approach with confidentiality; ensure accurate and complete recording and reporting.
  • Ensure that the clinical record for each patient on the team is current and accurate.
Qualifications
  • Licensed as RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience with underserved populations preferred.
  • Experience with EMR strongly preferred; strong medical assessment skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish & English candidates encouraged to apply.

  • The compensation ranges from $40.00 - $58.00 per hour and increases based on years of experience.
