PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Boston, MA)
Travel PACU RN job in Boston, Massachusetts supporting post-op recovery in a fast-paced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at a leading academic medical center in Boston. This assignment offers a 12-hour night shift schedule and guaranteed 36 hours/week.
Located in Boston, MA, you’ll be close to historic neighborhoods, the Charles River waterfront, and an outstanding dining and arts scene. The area also offers convenient public transit options, making it easy to explore the city between shifts.

- Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed)

- Schedule: Nights; up to 2 weekend shifts per month

- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,130–$2,250
- RN Experience: 3+ years of Registered Nurse experience
- PACU Experience: 1+ year of travel PACU RN experience
- Academic Medical Center Experience: 1+ year required
- License: Active RN license (verification required for submission)
- Clinical Skills: Post-op assessment, monitoring, pain and nausea management, and rapid response to changes in patient condition
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care, including ongoing assessment and stabilization of patients recovering from surgery and procedural sedation
- Monitor patient status and recognize/escalate post-operative complications per unit protocols
- Administer medications and therapies per provider orders and PACU protocols, including pain control and antiemetic therapy
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with the care team to support safe transitions and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions as appropriate
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record
