Registered Nurse – M7E – 36 Hours (Nights / Every Other Weekend)
DepartmentMedical Surgical/7 East – a 36‑bed unit providing care to Family Medicine and Renal patients, including peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. Candidates should demonstrate cultural competence and professional integrity.
Position SummaryAs an RN in the Medical Surgical unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care while working within a supportive nursing organization.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and their families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects.
- Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts.
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification required for certain units.
- Educational background:
Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years. - Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
