- Teaches patients about their condition and reinforces medication schedule and teaching.
- Leads exercise sessions at Phase II, III, and IV levels (Cardiac Rehab) as well as adult fitness classes.
- Incorporates evidence‑based knowledge into decisions for the provision of safe patient care and participates in the planning and provision of safety‑related education with age‑specific consideration.
- Seeks experiences to maintain skills and competency necessary to practice in specialty service.
- Participates in data collection and research related to the Cardiac Rehab Program.
- Incorporates current research, national guidelines, standards, and evidence‑based practices to develop advanced clinical knowledge and improve Cardiac Rehabs performance.
- Demonstrates effective communication with members of the Cardiac Rehab team, participants and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Assists with facilitating staff compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, governmental regulations, and professional standards of care.
- Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
- Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.
- 3 years of acute care and/or Cardiac Rehab experience.
- Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Operate autonomously, think critically and effectively problem solve in this dynamic outpatient environment.
- Physically able to demonstrate and participate in exercise sessions at Phase II, III and IV levels, plus Adult Fitness.
- Strong public speaking, group management, communication, clinical skills, and guest relations.
- Lead exercise sessions and assess patients for changes in condition; communicate with MD effectively.
- Use glucometer, analyze results, act according to glucose policy.
- Read ECG rhythms, recognize changes from baseline, communicate with MD.
- Perform ACLS and call 911 in emergency situations.
- Professional demeanor, can work independently, take initiative.
- Identify, analyze, solve problems to meet desired outcomes.
- Manual dexterity to perform job functions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and security for patient‑related data and information.
- Interpersonal skills for working closely with Cardiac Rehabilitation Staff. Take directions from others, work well in a group.
Compensation Range: $33.41 - $48.56 per hour (based on minimum job qualifications).
