Overview
Massachusetts General Hospital’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead and support clinical operations across seven critical care areas. The role is full‑time evening shift and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master’s strongly preferred. Responsibilities include directing staff, ensuring quality patient care, coordinating unit activities, developing staffing plans, and providing coaching and feedback.

- Direct, plan, and coordinate service activities and staffing performance of professional and auxiliary nursing personnel to provide quality patient care.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
- Ensure development, implementation, and evaluation of staff onboarding, training, and education.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback for staff.
- Ensure a positive, safe work environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Coordinate unit activities with other hospital departments.
- Develop and implement staffing plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required;
Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. - Registered Nurse (RN) – MA license required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred;
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate preferred. - 2–3 years nursing experience and 1–2 years nursing leadership experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, stress‑management skills; knowledge of patient care across age groups.
