Position: Registered Nurse, Float Pool, 36 Hours (Nights / 3rd Weekend)

We invite a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical Float Pool, supporting a range of adult, pediatric, and observation units.

Position Summary

The Float Pool RN delivers comprehensive patient care in medical, surgical, IMCU, and observation settings. Nurses are expected to be flexible, versatile, and ready to staff surge units when required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical/Med Surge Float Pool, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records, entering and interpreting computerized data.
  • Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies.
  • Assist leadership with quality improvement projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
  • 1+ year RN experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS required in certain units.
  • Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a BSN within four years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
  • Vaccination against COVID‑19, flu, and booster as required.
