Position
Registered Nurse – Float Pool, Med/Surge – Boston Medical Center Brighton.
Schedule:
36 hours, day/night rotation. The Med/Surge float pool nurses provide 24/7 clinical excellence for medical/surgical adult populations. Working in the float pool sharpens med‑surge skills and provides an unparalleled clinical overview.
- Deliver nursing care in the medical/surgical unit (assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, educate patients).
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records using the computerized system.
- Interpret computerized data and information.
- Follow BMCHS nursing guidelines and policies.
- Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
- Licensed registered nurse in Massachusetts.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required in certain units. - Nursing degree: diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred; ability to obtain BSN within 4 years).
- Relevant clinical experience or specialty; certifications required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- Must be vaccinated against COVID‑19, flu, and receive booster dose of COVID‑19 vaccine.
- Competitive pay ($39.02–$90.05/hour; based on qualifications).
