Registered Nurse – Med Surg Post‑Op Unit (36
Hours, Night shifts with every other weekend/holiday).
Location:
Med Surg – Post‑Op Unit, BMC.

West is a 46‑bed surgical unit providing general post‑operative care for colorectal, surgical oncology, gynecology, trauma and acute care surgery (TACS), bariatric surgery, urology, plastics, transgender, transplant, and vascular surgery patients. Nursing staff focus on professional growth through certifications and an active unit‑based practice council.
- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
- Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies.
- Assist leadership with quality improvement projects as needed.
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS);
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required in certain units. - Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN or BSN (BSN preferred). - Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- Competitive pay; range $38.05–$75.33 per hour.
