About the Role
Boston Medical Center – Brighton is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team in a fully outpatient-focused role. You will care for both preoperative and postoperative patients, support off‑site clinics 1–2 times per month, and work closely with a highly collaborative team of APPs, surgeons, and office staff. This is an opportunity to practice at the top of your license and make a meaningful impact in a busy, high‑performing cardiac surgery program.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical exams.
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and care plans.
- Document all clinical encounters in EPIC within required time frames.
- Support patient flow and coordination of care, including admissions and specialty consults.
- Work collaboratively with APP colleagues, surgeons, and office staff in a fast‑paced environment.
- Participate in off‑site outpatient clinics 1–2 times monthly.
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 2 years of Cardiac Surgery experience.
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
- Licensed (or license‑eligible) in Massachusetts.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to remain calm in urgent situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Consistent daytime schedule (no weekends, nights, or holidays). A supportive, highly skilled cardiac surgery team. Opportunity to work independently while receiving appropriate supervision. Meaningful role supporting clinic efficiency and high-quality patient care.

CompensationCompensation Range: $ – $. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and considers education, experience, skills, certifications, and market competitiveness.
