Position: Registered Nurse, Operating Room Inpatient Surgery (36 hours, Day/Evening)

Position Overview

Registered Nurse – Menino Operating Room (Inpatient Surgery)

Schedule:

36 hours, Days/Evenings, Every 3rd Weekend, Call Required

Location:

Menino Operating Room, Boston Medical Center

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations.
  • Provide professional performance and direct patient care across outpatient and inpatient surgical services.
  • Conduct nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families.
  • Accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes using the department’s model of care.
  • Follow established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice.
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to team members.
  • Manage stress related to critical patient care, changing organizational climate, and personnel issues.
Qualifications
  • Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years.
  • License to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Current or prior operating room experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including accessing, entering, and interpreting computerized data.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Multilingual skills (beyond English) preferred.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certifications required for certain practice areas.
  • Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $38.05 – $75.33
