Position:
Nursing Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN)

The Nursing Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all clinical support activities in the Practice and for providing professional clinical assistance to patients within the practice supporting the physicians. Working directly with the physicians, the Nurse Coordinator is the liaison between the patient and the physicians for establishing and maintaining quality patient care and will perform all duties in accordance with clinic protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine duties including phlebotomy, patient education/training, clinical staff training and maintenance of competencies, and insurance authorization for medications and procedures.
  • Utilize clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care: assess the patient and family, plan and implement clinical care and facilitate its delivery, evaluate process and outcome of services and suggest improvements, and document per practice policies.
  • Practice and promote professional clinical care within legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide education/consultation as needed to other healthcare team members and to patients and families.
  • Assist with determining appropriate staffing levels, recruitment efforts for new clinical staff, and evaluating clinical staff performance including completion of performance evaluations.
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain adequate medical supply and pharmaceutical inventory and assist in placing orders as necessary.
  • As a member of clinic management, ensure that the practice meets all code and accreditation standards (OSHA, DPH, JCAHO, CLIA, HIPAA).
  • Administer vaccinations, injections, and other infusions as needed.
  • Triage telephone calls and schedule urgent care appointments.
  • Maintain frequent contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate and coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain professional license through practice-based continuing education programs.
Qualifications
  • Current licensed registered nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • BSN degree.
  • Three (3) or more years in a clinical setting, preferably in office settings related to internal medicine sub-specialties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expert clinical judgment and ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in an expanded role.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide effective patient and/or family education.
  • Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with the various members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information required.
Compensation

$33.41 – $48.56 per hour. This range is based on the minimum job qualifications and includes consideration of education, experience, skills, and certifications.
