Schedule36 hours per week; rotating days/night; every other holiday/weekend
DepartmentMedical Surgical/4 East Department – a 37‑bed surgical unit serving orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, OMFS. Staff must demonstrate cultural sensitivity to diverse patient populations.
Position SummaryAs an RN on the Medical Surgical unit, you will deliver patient‑centered care, collaborate with interprofessional teams, manage patient records, and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies.
- Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
- Licensed RN in Massachusetts.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for certain units. - Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. - Relevant clinical experience or specialty certification for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
