Overview

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Occupational Health Services and Medical Director, the Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Manager supports the day‑to‑day clinical and operational activities of Occupational Health Services.

This role provides comprehensive occupational health nursing care, ensures compliance with occupational health guidelines per OSHA and MDPH, evidence‑based practice, and Massachusetts Workers Compensation laws, and promotes a safe, efficient, and supportive work environment.

The RN Clinical Manager utilizes workers compensation expertise to manage complex cases, provides direct clinical care, and collaborates on the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a Transitional Duty Work Program. The overall goal of this position is to support the physical, mental, and emotional well‑being of Boston University’s employee patient population.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive occupational health nursing care and support daily clinical operations.

Manage complex Workers Compensation cases and ensure compliance with OSHA, MDPH, and Massachusetts Workers Compensation laws.

Collaborate on the development, implementation, and evaluation of a Transitional Duty Work Program.

Promote a safe and supportive work environment through evidence‑based practices.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience in an Occupational Health setting with Workers Compensation case management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex Workers Compensation cases while providing direct clinical care
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and health care providers
