Job Overview
Shriners Children’s Boston has an opportunity for a full-time rotating day & night shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our PICU.
PICU nurses provide intensive care to critically ill pediatric patients. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our patients through their journey from the moment the child is wheeled through the door to the time the child leaves to go home. Many of our patients return for follow-up care as they grow, giving you a chance to see your great work shine through the child as they mature.
Hours: This full-time position will work 72 hours bi-weekly on a rotating shift of days and nights.
The pay range for this position is $50.12 hourly to $75.78 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
Responsibilities- Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis.
- Involves patient, family and health care team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
- Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family and health care team members.
- Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient’s condition and learning needs.
- Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.

QualificationsRequired:
- BSN degree or in process
- Massachusetts RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred:
- Two years acute care nursing experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
