Renowned for its outstanding clinical services, research programs, as well as education, Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) is a 475-bed comprehensive center for pediatric health care with hundreds of affiliations throughout the world and ~14,000 employees, including over 3,700 registered nurses (RNs) and 800 advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). In addition to the main campus, BCH is comprised of numerous satellite locations, a community health center, associated hospitals, and is affiliated with over 400 pediatricians across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Hospital operates under the corporate control of Children’s Medical Center Corporation (CMCC) which is the system parent of BCH and its affiliated corporations. As one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States with more than 40 clinical Departments, the organization offers a complete range of health care services for children of all ages and, in some cases, offers fetal interventions and treatments for adults.

BCH is the safety net institution for children throughout the region, supporting the entire healthcare system for the most complex pediatric cases and Massachusetts. With an exceptional physician, nursing and interprofessional team to care for children who have rare and complex conditions, BCH is often the place where parents come for further evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

This is a distinct opportunity to lead key aspects of Boston Children’s perioperative operations, widely recognized for excellence related to both interprofessional and family-centered care practices.

The VP/ACNO is responsible for the leadership of senior and front‑line nurse leaders, oversight of perioperative staffing effectiveness and associated budgets, as well as perioperative transition to practice programs. This role requires an experienced leader with a demonstrated ability to lead comfortably in an organization that is actively evolving its organization‑wide structures both near term and over time.
