The PNP provides medication management and overall psychiatric care for clients in the Italian Home for Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The role involves collaboration with the treatment team, attending regular meetings, and ensuring that all practices meet regulatory and licensure standards. The PNP commits to delivering the highest quality of care to IHC’s clients.

Working Hours & Schedule

The role is part‑time with fluid hours based on the number of intakes and enrolled youth. With a full caseload of 10 clients, the expectation is approximately 20 hours per week. PHP operates from 9:00AM to 3:00PM; the PNP is expected to work within these hours but has flexibility with start and end times. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three in‑person days per week.

Functions & Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessment and ongoing medication management to assigned caseload of clients.
  • Hold credentials to prescribe medications to children and adults.
  • Attend team meetings and consult regularly with clinicians, other prescribers, nursing, parents/guardians, and other members of the individual’s treatment team.
  • Complete required paperwork, progress notes, and billing in a timely manner.
  • Keep detailed and accurate documentation of interventions with clients.
  • Participate with the multidisciplinary team in the development and review of treatment planning and case assignment.
  • Communicate with collaborators at other agencies, including the Department of Children and Families (DCF), regarding client treatment and needs.
  • Provide on‑call coverage for clients and vacation coverage for other prescribers’ clients.
  • Respond to emergency situations with clients and families.
  • Attend agency‑required meetings and complete all agency‑assigned trainings.
  • Apply and enforce agency policy and regulations.
Essential Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid and current Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing psychopharmacology management to children, adolescents and adults with significant trauma histories.
  • Ability to understand and implement agency treatment philosophy.
  • Commitment to highest quality of care.
  • Creative, thoughtful, and able to make good decisions quickly in crisis situations.
  • Strong ability to accept and give critical feedback.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record keeping.
  • Consistent and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Maintains calm and can perform in a stressful and fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility in action, thinking, and scheduling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Skilled in working independently to carry out department and agency objectives.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage: $90–$94 per hour (USD). The role is not eligible for additional compensation‑related benefits such as PTO, medical, dental, and life insurance. Eligible for the Italian Home for Children EAP and participation‑eligible 403(b) retirement plan.
