Registered Nurse

Med Surg – Orthopedics, M4E

36 Hours (Nights) with weekends/holidays as required.

4 East is a 37‑bed surgical unit serving orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, and OMFS. The unit requires cultural sensitivity to the needs of all patient populations and diverse staff.

As an RN in the Medical Surgical department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care. You will work within our supportive nursing organization to provide high‑quality care.

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team in quality‑improvement projects.

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
• Diploma, AS‑N, or BSN preferred; ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, with required certifications for certain practice areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.
