Responsibilities
Arbour Hospital, located in Jamaica Plain, is seeking a Nurse Manager to join our psychiatric team providing inpatient and partial programs. This Monday-Friday, 40‑hour per week, day shift salaried position.
- Oversees clinical nursing care, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation.
- Provides direct supervision to nurses and subordinate staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health. Serves as key problem‑solving resource for staff on patient issues and studies patient needs/trends to suggest solutions to ongoing patient care problems.
- Collaborates with the CNO and supervisors on development and implementation of the nursing department’s mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget, quality assurance plan, and work standards.
- Compiles and analyzes data on patient outcomes, quality assurance results, budget and goal achievement, and performance/productivity and prepares reports for administration.
- Participates in team planning related to clinic and emergency/disaster response system.
- Analyzes staffing patterns with the CNO/HR Director, maintains required NCHs for the unit, and collaborates with human resources on recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training.
- Conducts performance review meetings, regularly provides feedback and coaching, and is responsible for overall development and succession planning of the staff.
- Participates actively on unit‑based and hospital committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Acts as house coverage/rotation when required.
- Collaborates with other disciplines to affect positive patient outcomes.

- MA RN license
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional nursing experience
- One year of supervisor experience preferred
