Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Epilepsy
Join Boston Medical Center to provide outpatient and inpatient care for epilepsy patients under the supervision of the Division Chief of Epilepsy.
Responsibilities- Obtain complete medical history and perform physical examinations.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies.
- Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Set priorities for efficient management of patient care.
- Perform physical examinations within prescribed guidelines.
- Record pertinent findings in the medical record.
- Maintain interdisciplinary communication with healthcare team and other departments.
- Provide consultative services in inpatient settings and assist with patient coordination.
- Prescribe and dispense medication within scope of practice.
- Assist attending physicians as needed within applicable laws and hospital regulations.
- Expert clinical judgment and ability to be self‑directive.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Organizational skills to set priorities efficiently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for team, patient, and family communication.
- Computer proficiency for data entry and interpretation.
- Physical ability to meet job demands.
- Full command of written and spoken English.
- Qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) – master’s degree in nursing, current RN‑NP license in Massachusetts, APRN authorization, registered with ANCC or equivalent.
- Qualified Physician Assistant (PA‑C) – bachelor’s degree and graduate of an ARC‑PA accredited program, eligible for NCCPA PANCE and Massachusetts PA license.
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and Federal DEA registration.
- Current BLS certification.
- Preferred: clinical experience in a neurology setting or with neurological patients.

CompensationCompetitive salary commensurate with academic training and experience. Salary range: $80,200 to $269,851. Benefits include paid vacation, sick time, parental leave, educational leave, bereavement leave, CME expenses, and 90% reduced tuition for faculty and dependents.
