Position Summary
The registered nurse follows the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. The primary responsibilities include direct patient care, nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families. The RN is accountable for clinical, educational, quality and fiscal patient care outcomes using the department’s model of care and agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of practice.

Job Requirements Education- Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Must be able to obtain a BSN within 4 years.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Massachusetts in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required for some units.
- Additional certifications may be required for certain practice areas.
- Outpatient/ambulatory OB/GYYN and telephone triage experience.
- Antenatal testing, NST, and fetal monitoring experience or certification.
- Labor & delivery experience.
- Epic documentation experience is preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency, ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data.
- Effective interpersonal skills for communication with the health‑care team, patients, and families.
- Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete work.
- Multilingual skills beyond English preferred.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas (e.g., enterostomal therapy, epidemiology, peri‑operative areas).
- Analytical ability to solve nursing issues and conduct quality improvement research projects.
- Ability to delegate appropriate patient‑care activities effectively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate for the patient populations served.
- Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities in this clinical setting.
- Ability to manage stress related to patient care and organizational changes.
$38.05 – $75.33 per hour. This range is based on minimum qualifications and is considered along with education, experience, licensure and certifications.
