- Keeps Medical Center and Nursing Administrator-on-call apprised of administrative and emergent issues.
- Participates in planning and allocating the resources of the division and assists in the distribution of resources within each unit.
- Participates in contract compliance and ongoing labor relations.
- Participates in hospital and nursing committees.
- Makes administrative decisions within budgetary requirements.
- Implements disciplinary actions within the Medical Center guidelines.
- Participates in strategic planning, goal setting and evaluation.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Documents and communicates to administrator issues involving other hospital departments during one’s tour of duty.
- Facilitates conflict resolution of staff and patients to appropriate parties and documents when and if necessary.
- Coordinates incoming transfers and referrals for the Medical Center.
- Works with referring MD to facilitate appropriate patient triage and placement.
- Works to reduce transfer delays, balance patient flow and helps to standardize patient pathways.
- Ensures adequate levels of staffing throughout all shifts.
- Responsible for maintaining 5000 line.
- Maintains transfer database.
- A/P rotation with every third weekend.
Education and Experience
BSN and at least 5 years of nursing/ICU experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PreferredEducation and Experience
MSN. Preferred patient transfer center experience.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations (Required)Registration and current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing required. BLS/ACLS certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)- Meditech proficient
- EPIC proficient
- Excel proficient
- Kronos scheduling proficient
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Range: $45.43- $65.87 per hour. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
