Job Summary
Mass General Brigham’s School of Nursing is looking for a dynamic faculty member to design, manage, teach, and evaluate both didactic and clinical nursing courses. The role also involves general academic advising and active participation in professional, service, and scholarly activities. Candidates must hold a current Massachusetts RN license, a Master of Science in Nursing, and have at least two years of full‑time nursing experience within the past five years;
a doctoral degree is preferred.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Master of Science in Nursing.
- Minimum two years of full‑time nursing experience (or equivalent) in the last five years.
- Evidence of teaching expertise and certification in an area of specialization required for faculty appointment at the Advanced Practice level.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Active and contributing member of the School of Nursing.
- Flexibility with schedule, prioritization, self‑monitoring, and collaborative interprofessional teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The faculty member’s duties include designing, managing, teaching, and evaluating didactic and clinical nursing courses within their designated content area or other negotiated content; providing general academic advising; participating in professional and service activities; and engaging in scholarship commensurate with the level of appointment.
General allocation of time:
Teaching – 50%- Teach within or across programs as appropriate to area of expertise and program needs.
- Evaluate student achievement of nursing competencies appropriate to the program and level of student learning.
- Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of the nursing curriculum plan.
- Serve on Department, School, and Institute Committees and participate in professional activities, student advising, and departmental and Institute events.
- Participate in SON and IHP governance, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of a systematic evaluation plan that encompasses all program components.
- Identify an area of scholarship as outlined in the IHP Scholarship Model.
- Engage in scholarship activities within the identified domain commensurate with the level of appointment.
