Medical Intensive Care Unit B (MICU‑B) - Schedule:
36‑hour shifts (Days/Nights with rotating weekends)
BMC houses two medical intensive care units: MICU‑A (17 beds) and MICU‑B (10 beds). Patients in these units include those with multisystem failure, renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and sepsis.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, education).
- Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects as needed.
- Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, or ability to obtain one.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
- Diploma, ASN, or BSN nursing degree (BSN preferred; ability to obtain BSN within 4 years).
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.

Estimated range: $38.05 – $75.33 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and licensure.
