Schedule36 hours/week (Night shift, Every 3rd weekend required)
Unit OverviewThe Med/Surge Float RNs provide 24/7 clinical excellence for med/surge areas. Float pool nurses care for medical and surgical adult populations. Working in the float pool hones your med‑surge skills and provides a clinical overview that is unparalleled in any other med/surge area.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred) - Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) completed during orientation
- PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire, offered by the hospital
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
Range: $39.02–$90.05 per hour. This range is based on the minimum job qualifications. Compensation is determined by education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
